Peter Bardens : The Answer. Peter Bardens was the keyboard player for Camel. In 1969 he got together with Peter Green from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and did this album. Lotsa Blues and wah wah pedal. I saw it in the pile and grabbed it this morning. Great stuff. 4 outta 5.

Leslie West : Live. This is from a 1994 show. Lotsa Blues and a quick run thru of his standards. Some stuff that'll stand your hair on end. 3 piece band. He doesn't need any more people. He even makes a stab at Hendrix's Voodoo Chile. Mostly 7 - 8 minute tunes. This would be a heck of an introduction to Leslie West. 4 1/2 outta 5. Also picked up an old Camel CD. I Can See Your House From Here. I haven't listened to it yet.

Alvin Lee : Still On the Road To Freedom. New Alvin Lee album. It reminds me a little of On the Road To Freedom from 1973. He's relaxed and in a comfort zone. He can still shred with the best of them despite being almost 70 years old. There's a wide variety of styles on this one, but it all seems to flow together the more you listen to it. From the liner notes, he wrote 33 songs for this album then cut it back to 15 and settled on 13 cuts including a remake of Love Like a Man. I'll give it a 4+ outta 5. www.youtube.com/watch?v=saYHp3P5m5sNot a video really. Just the album cover and the title track.

Stranger In a Strange Land. By Robert A. Heinlein. I originally read this back in 1974. A lot has changed since that time. because of morals at the time of the originally published work, there were 70,000 words removed from the original text. The newer copies have added these 70,000 words and made it more interesting. This is an excellent book for any Sci Fi fan.

Jefferson Airplane : Worst Of. This was always a favorite of mine. The new copies have added a few bonus tracks, which aren't too bad.

Evil Bong 2 : King Bong. As you can guess by the title, this movie deals with smoking dope. For those innocent individuals, a bong is similar to a water pipe for partaking weed, hash, or opium. You fill it with cold water, ice water, scotch, bourbon or flavored schnapps to cool down or flavor the smoke. Anyway, according to the movie, a guy's friend's were all killed by this evil bong. A kid buys it on ebay and the legend goes on. I laughed my ass off. I'm not sure, but I think Tommy Chong had a hand in writing this. He was in the first movie. ( Think Cheech and Chong without them in it. Slightly similar to Ski School.) 3 1/2 outta 5

Pink Floyd : Atom Heart Mother. The orchestra and choir on this album put a lot of people off at the time. Even guys in the band itself weren't too thrilled with the outcome. I was listening to the Atom Heart Mother tour on Youtube the other night, and thought it was pretty good. So a little while ago, I found the box with it in. Actually dug out a few old PF CD's to listen to. ( Pre Dark Side of the Moon.) 4 outta 5.

Since there was no Grimm last night, I decided to check out their website. In this case, I am the messenger. It will return Sept. 28th. For those who don't have a calendar handy, that's a Friday night !! Here at the Fantasy Factory, things like this tend to rankle my ass slightly. They went to all the trouble of moving it to Monday nights in August after starting early this year. This was in order to collect a larger audience base. Now to either throw a monkey wrench in the whole thing, or just to f*ck with viewers, they're going back to Fridays at 9:00. Pr*cks !!!!
Nothing like consistancy. This is how Legend of the Seeker got hosed.

Joe South. Singer, songwriter session musician. I first heard of him on the liner notes of Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde. They make those things for you to read and enjoy and to let you know who's making that wonderful music that you're listening to. ( Check this album out. You won't be disappointed. ) news.yahoo.com/joe-south-singer-songwriter-70s-dies-72-004031085.htmlHe's the guy who wrote I Never Promised You a Rose Garden and he wrote Hush, the Deep Purple hit.

Flo and Eddie : Rock Steady With Flo and Eddie. In the mid eighties, Flo and Eddie recorded this Reggae album with the Wailers. I found this in an old box and dug it out. This is the only Reggae album I own. I've heard way too much really awful British Reggae that it put me off. This is really well done. I also checked Professor Flo's website. Just type Mark Volman in the search bar and it'll get you to Professor Flo.

Ron Palillo. Horshack from Welcome Back Kotter. He died from a heart attack. Only 63. This is a real shock to me.

Bob Dylan No Direction Home. This is the Martin Scorsese film on Dylan from 1961 - 1966. VERY well done ! Some of the archive clips and interviews were really interesting. Poor Bob was put in a position he didn't want. You could see how uncomfortable he was. I feel bad for him being put in that position. But I'd give the movie a 10 outta 10.
