Going to the Pirate game tonight courtesy of our IT provider at work. First have to sit through a sales presentation but then we get to watch the game from the Pittsburgh Baseball Club. Hope they do well tonight!

Waiting for frickin Verizon to show up to fix my land line. Placed the service call on Friday morning and they said they'd be here by 7 PM tonight. They've got 26 minutes...

Did they try and talk you into checking your own inside connections ? They tried that shit with me a few years back. I told them that if they valued my business, they wouldn't ask me that again. That's their business, not mine.

From the window of my downtown office, I could see 'em closing the streets for the President's arrival. Made me think about how times have changed. I remember when Carter was prez & he made a stop in Pittsburgh while I was in law school. I saw him riding in a car, stuck in traffic with other cars. No street closings, no security, no nothin.'

This is not Akasha's birthday.
This is not my beautiful house. This is not my beautiful family.
MY GOD, HOW DID I GET HERE?
And the days go by...
(Sorry.)

A little ticked off today. Well happy and ticked off at the same time. I'm still without my computer and will be for a little bit longer because I need to buy a new one. The wonderful products of HP and the honest employees of HP has left me computer-less for almost 5 months. They wont fix an issue that is their fault. They created this issue and they should fix it. I bought my HP almost 3 years ago and it has broken 3 times. This last one killed my mother board. I've only been able to use my computer 2 and a half of those years because it has been under repair for the remaining months. I'm so stunned by this it's blowing my mind. It is an issue that they are aware of and many other people are complaining about it and they are refusing to fix it. I just can't comprehend why in the world they would put out a shitty product and then not fix the problem. Who the hell do they think they are? What happened to caring about the product you produce? Flabbergasted I tell you!
Good think is I'm getting my data off my hard drive this weekend. My computer has been in the hand of a great IT guy that had tried to fix it and has been dealing with HP this entire time arguing with them to fix it. Good thing number 2 and bad as well, is I decided that I'm getting another computer. The bad is that I have to fork out dough for another computer, 3 years later of buying a $700+ HP laptop. Insane. Good think number 3 is I will have my own computer again. Thank goodness.
I'm hoping that its not a total waste. Hopefully I get my new laptop and my old one gets fixed later. Then I either have a spare or whatever I decide to do with it. Then at least all the money spent on it wont down the shitter.
I will never buy another HP again. EVER!
Looking at the silver lining through soon to be hit checkbook induced tear stained eyes.

Looking at the silver lining through soon to be hit checkbook induced tear stained eyes. I bought an Acer because it was cheap. Gotta say I'm impressed with it. I normally hate laptops, but this one has handled both my and Ang's abuse with aplomb. It's an Extensa 5620z, not the most stylish thing in the world, but it works - even with Vista. I will seriously consider other Acer products because this one has worked out well...

I did all this research on laptops the last time and now I'm a little jaded by my own decision. Which sucks. Read all the reviews and talked to a ton of people and heard nothing but good things about HP and I get punched in the face by them. Just my luck. What more can I do to be sure that this doesn't happen again? Not much really, when you think about it. All a consumer has anymore is luck. Since it seems if you get a bad product the company doesn't care. Tough titties for you is all consumers get anymore.

Laptop research is driving me nuts! And the prices went up from last week which makes me have to research all over again.
