I bet it will be Ghost Hunters because Jason and Grant have such defined personalities. The others seem to be lacking any real protagonists. I keep having high hopes for Ghost Hunters International. I love seeing and learning about all the great locations, but the show just always seems flatter than the original. I think Haunted Homes is the worst, it relies on psychic information too much and never delves into the evidence, even though they show that they have equipment on hand. Plus, I think it encourages the homeowner to be afraid of their homes. On the one I saw last night, a woman wouldn't go into a room where she made her own children sleep every night! Boo.

I chose Ghost Hunters, mostly for the exact reasons you mentioned. GHI is OK, but in a different way - Barry's willingness to attribute every little thing to paranormal activity is hilarious, especially when he's directly affected by something - he's so dramatic!
Of the rest of the also-rans, Ghost Lab is best. Not good, mind you, but better than the other jokes. Overuse of psychics and mediums instantly disqualify the bulk of these shows as far as I'm concerned.

For some reason I can't get into these shows, even though I find the ghost hunting concept interesting. Perhaps I'm wrong, but they just all seem like another reality show from the outside.

Do you not like reality shows at all? They are kind of like reality shows but different because at least GH's does not focus on people's personal lives. It's all about the investigation. There is not interpersonal drama and that is what makes it very different from your average reality show. I LOVE LOVE LOVE GH's. GHI is okay but mostly because of where they go. Their cast is mostly boring. Ghost Lab is my second fav. The rest of those shows seem to focus way too much on mediums and religious stuff. Also, I don't like when the shows jump to the conclusion of the place being haunted without trying to find a logical explanation.

I saw the previews for Paranormal Cops. Who has anticipated this "the best". I am willing to watch the first episode but from the preview it looked pretty corny to me.

I am guilty of turning all of them on, but I'm usually knitting while I have them on, and I only look up when they say they have found something. Besides the new Paranormal Cops, the only one I haven't seen is Ghost Lab.

What gets me about GHI is that they ask their questions in English, no matter what country they're in. How many 15th century ghosts in Italy, Germany or France do you suppose can understand a word they're saying ? Do they have a translator off camera somewhere who asks the questions ? Seems like BS to me. Arrogant pricks.

Every time she runs down a case, her voice makes me grit my teeth. That whole crew, with the possible exception of Dustin Pari, are the antithesis of charismatic...

The head guy Rob is not bad but he needs a better bunch of people. I agree Brandi needs to go. Her voice is why I turned it off the other night.

I really like that Jason and Grant take as practical approach as possible in their "hunts" and that they stay very objective about it all... On the other hand, that hack on Paranormal State just irritates the crap out of me! I can't take that they play some spooky music and say "did you just hear that?!?!" and they count the joint as "haunted".. Give me a break! Anyhow... that's all for this rant
