Wow it's crickets around here for the past few days. Eveytime I'm on its quite. Shhhhh. Been a dull week for me: work, work, little bit of Bioshock, work, work. I'm thinking it's the cosmos' way of preparing my brain for Watchmen either being utterly amazing or colossally bad.

Work was a little surreal today.
There I am, typing away, mourning my lost childhood and wondering what the hell happened to my hopes and dreams, you know, the usual routine. Suddenly, I stop and have to ask myself what I'm hearing is indeed what I'm hearing: "Lullaby" by The Cure. And it was. Not a musak version, but the actual thing. And I got all happy, thinking, "Wow! Whoever's running the PA system is a saint!"
Then they followed it with Huey Lewis and the News.
Not exactly an appropriate follow-up.
But it's been really weird song-wise. They'll play crap like that, then suddenly The Ramones will sneak in.

Finally got my internet back after going through three Verizon and one Linksys outsourced customer service staff on the phone for 90 minutes. Plus we had two Verizon technicians at the house yesterday and one out on the main road splicing cables.
So one of the techs at the house swapped out our modem and was unable to get an internet connection going through the router. She then just connected the desktop to the modem, told the Mr. that everything was fixed and left! She knew I had a laptop there because they called me for my password to get in and I asked if the wireless network was fixed so I could connect. I got home and of course it didn't work, which prompted my 90 minute series of calls plus having to pay $29.95 for one-time support from Linksys because my router is out of the warranty.
I'm convinced that the first Verizon rep who dialed into my desktop on Friday and deleted a bunch of files screwed up the wireless network. I complained about it but they wouldn't take responsibility.

No. I asked around, and they said they couldn't afford to compensate the families after the ensuing mass suicide.

Managed to get a lot accomplished this morning: got my car repaired/inspected, haircut, laundry. Now I'm in that weird "I know I should do something but I don't know what" phase.
And sorry to hear about the neck, Akasha. Hope you feel better in time for Friday. Don't know if I could handle full-on Rich.

All i wanna know is, do they have alcohol at this polish deli??? Not sure. Games n at is BYOB. You might remember we had to wait a while for the bowling alley to open the bar last year. I'm wondering if we need to pick up a case of something for Friday. I'm thinking cans since we will be on the move. Let me know what you guys think. I can pick it up tomorrow.
