Anyone know any good Western PA or nearby urban legends?
One I've heard about from back in the 80's is where a group of teens find a Satanic Cult in the woods near Pittsburgh and when the teens were spying on them a red dot from a laser scope ends up on one of the teenagers which causes them to run for their life. I've heard that from two different people as if they were actually there. Funny it happened in two different locations, same exact story.
Others I would be interested in hearing about is Green Man's Tunnel. Where exactly is it?
I've also heard (and been to in college) about Roney's Point Mental Asylum in Traidelpha WV being haunted and all of the trees are equal distance apart and have a patient buried beneath them that were victims of a mad doctor's torturous experiments.

I thought Green Man's Tunnel was in South Park but I could be wrong.

I think you are right, that's what I've always heard. I don't believe it is in the actual park though, which is what I had always believed in the past. I think it's someplace in South Park Township heading towards Finleyville. Just not sure exactly where.

You are right, Green Man's Tunnel is in the South Hills, but I'm not exactly sure where... Mayview State Hospital (an old and only partially existing) Mental Health Facility is still around in Lawrence, PA (which is in Washington Co). Pretty creepy, dozens of alleged maltreatment stories. Where my parents are from has a few stories, but nothing is ever confirmed... its called Coulter, PA. Some stories about a church/orphanage and also 13 Bends is in Guffy which is right around a windy wooded road from them. Here's some true/creepy Coulter history... There was a chunk of land that was vacant (but privately owned) waaaaaay back in the day. Someone decided to plant their dead parents here and call it a cemetery. Dozens and dozens of mourners followed suit and planted their kin there too. Eventually the guy that owned the property realized what was going on and said "screw it, I'll just make it a cemetery, then!" That is the actual "how" St. Patrick's Cemetery in Coulter (on Coulterville Road) was accidentally established! Nice! Here's a link to a few locals www.swpenna.com/hauntedhouse2.asp

I recently found both Corvette Tunnel and Green Man's Tunnel. Corvette Tunnel really did frighten me. It is because of the danger element. Essentially this is a dark 2 lane road that suddenly becomes a one lane tunnel. You can't see the other end of the tunnel because there is a sharp turn in it. So you could enter this tunnel and end up in a head on collision or even get rear ended if you would find you need to back out because of an oncoming vehicle. You are supposed to blow your horn as you enter to warn others that you are coming through. That may not always work if someone is blasting their radio. The odd thing too was as soon as I turned onto this road, there was a red corvette coming the other way( I kid you not!!)
