That's right, a new Jeff Beck CD April 13th. Its called Emotion and Commotion. I'm really looking forward to this. Beck never ceases to amaze me. Same band as on Ronnie Scott's plus an orchestra on a few cuts.
Now I had the Dean of Music at IUP tell me that " the guitar is not an orchestral instrument. " I told him when he got his head out of his ass, to call me. F*cker was wrong in 1975 and he's still wrong. Prick.

The Dean of Music was wrong. I'll bet he doesn't even like Roy Buchanan.

The Dean of Music was wrong. I'll bet he doesn't even like Roy Buchanan. I can assure you that he never even heard of Roy Buchanan, Duke Robillard, or Jorma Kaukonen. Probably couldn't tell Filthy Teddy from The Messiah Will Come Again. But he knew his 3 B's : Bach, Beethoven and Brahms.

Shows how much he knows. The 3 B's are the Beatles, the Band, & the Byrds.

I got this in the mail yesterday. I've listened to it 3 times and am having a hard time finding a song I don't like on it. This time around Beck is laying back and letting some vocalists have the lead. He states in the liner notes that he's come to a point where he feels that he doesn't feel the need to shred all the time. His version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow sends chills up and down my spine. This could be a Grammy Award winner next year. You heard it here first. This is definitely a 9.5 - 10/ 10. Imagine Frank Sinatra as a guitarist.

Beck walked away with 2 Grammies last night. One for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for " Nessun Dorma. " The other for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for " Hammerhead." SWEEEET !
