Ken Anderson retires, Bruce Arians may get canned. Predictions on player cuts?

I probably don't follow the situation closely enough to predict player cuts. After a season like this one, nobody on the team should feel that his job is safe. I follow what fans say on some of the sports blogs & don't understand the hatred toward Arians. The offense put up enough points this year & handed over plenty of 4th-quarter leads to the defense. The blame for this lousy season should go to the defense.
That's tonight's sermon.

Defense was bad but some very bad offensive plays and special teams cost them a couple of games as well. I think there is blame all around. Arians has developed the offense into a scoring machine but he still takes risks that I think are unacceptable. For instance the interception against Miami near the end of the first half. 15 yards and you have 3 more points more than likely and there was time to try and drive for a touchdown. Instead he calls a high risk trick play and Miami gets the ball back.
Not back: Hampton - Free Agent, Willie Parker - Free Agent, Farrior - Lost a step so I think they might cut him, Jeff Reed - Free Agent.
I think they will resign Ryan Clark if his price is reasonable and it should be.

Agreed about the special teams & I hear ya about some of the risky play calling. I didn't agree with all of the play calling either---I grew up watching the Chuck Noll ball control offense, after all---but overall I think Arians did a good job.
Anyways, Arians was told today that he'd be back next year, according to the P-G on line.

In this morning's P-G, Art Rooney II says that the Steeler coaches need to get draft picks ready to step in & contribute a lot faster. In Thursday's paper, he was saying that the team needs to run the ball more next year. (Mike Tomlin agreed with the latter. What the hell else can he say?)
Art Rooney "The Chief" was a sportsman who excelled as a sandlot baseball player & an amateur boxer. Dan Rooney was the QB at North Catholic High School. Art Rooney II doesn't know the difference between the end-around & the goal post, yet in these past 2 days he's commented more on what the Steelers' coaches should be doing than his father & grandfather did in the first 75 days of the team's existence. I gotta wonder what the coaches & players think of him.

Just get rid of Big Ben. Now. Cut him or, better yet, trade him to a team in the Chinese league for a kicking tee & a pair of shoulder pads. Just do it.

ESPN reports Steelers might be looking for possible trade for Big Ben. That would be a good thing for the Steelers and Big Ben.

Now that the Steelers are on record wanting to keep Big Ben, I'm done with them. Sorry, but I have a daughter in college myself, & can't get past his behavior. Right now I'd rather see Kordell Stewart or Kent Nix as the Steelers' QB.
I'm told that today a school bus was stopped at a light on the South Side when the kids spotted Big Ben. They pulled down the windows & booed him. Ouch.

The NFL should review a tape of today's game & award both teams a loss.
