James Gang : Yer Album. Still some of Joe Walsh's finest work.

Bromberg was just her with Jorma Kaukonen, but I couldn't go. Woulda loved it.
Right now I'm listening to Phil Lesh & Friends at the Warfield Theatre on 4/16/99. The first show after Phil's liver transplant. The feel-good show of the century.

Hawkwind : Knights of Space. Its a damn shame that there are albums being produced like this. In an age of digital recording a superior sound systems, how does an album sound this muddy and have basically no separation ? F

New Riders of the Purple Sage : Wasted Tasters. I dig out these guys every now and then. There's something to be said for songs like : She's Lookin' Better Every Beer, Lonesome LA Cowboy and of course I Heard You Been Layin' My Old Lady.

Watching and listening - the 2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert. Saw Mick Jagger with U2, Jeff Beck with Buddy Guy, Sting and Billy Gibbons and Springsteen with Sam Moore, Tom Morello and John Fogerty. Wow.

Harry Chapin : Greatest Stories Live. Every so often I have to do this to myself. Cat Stevens is up next.

I have Greatest Stories Live, too. Bought it after he did a concert at St. Vincent College in my freshman year.
Right now I'm listening to Dylan's 10/13/89 concert in NY. During the final song, His Bobness walks thru the audience with his harmonica & microphone until he reaches the exit door where his bicycle is waiting for him, & then heads to his Manhattan apartment. The band keeps jamming until they realize that he's not coming back, & then the song is brought to an abrupt end.
Before that it was disc 2 of The Essential Roy Orbison.

Jeff Beck : Emotion & Commotion. At times its hard to tell how much is slide and how much is whammy bar. There's Puccini, Jazz, and a chilling version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow on this one. The best way I can describe this is to imagine Frank Sinatra as a guitarist. This will win a Grammy next year. Its almost as if Beck has matured.

Byrds : Untitled. I got the Deluxe Edition with a whole CD of outtakes and alternate versions of tunes from the original album. This was always one of my favorite Byrds albums. They did a great live version of Positively 4th Street. Also like their version of Willin'.

Dylan live in Cleveland on 11/2/89. Love the stuff from the period when G.E. Smith was in his band.
Before that it was Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow. SJ's posts inspired me to dig this one out.

I have a live Buddy Guy DVD with G.E. Smith and the Saturday Night Live Band. Nice stuff. You can't go wrong with Beck. I sent you a few YouTube things from his new album.

Had a rare Saturday afternoon last weekend when the Burgermistress wasn't sleeping after working all night, so I put aside some more important things & had my own vinylfest. First there was Jorma Kaukonen - River of Time, then the eponymous Roomful of Blues, & finally side 4 of Nick Lowe - Jesus of Cool (30th anniversary edition).
The week then turned into a Dylanfest when a few cool concerts became available on line. So today & yesterday I've been listening to his concerts at Luxembourg on 6/24/96 & Scranton on 8/12/97. No word on whether Joe Biden or Michael Scott were in attendance at the latter. I also grabbed a bootleg of the 1975 Dylan/Bette Midler studio session. Looking forward to hearing that one.
