Paranormal Activity is at the Loews Waterfront currently, but if you're willing to wait a little, Paramount is opening it wide this Friday thanks to the (honestly stupid) Demand It program getting a million hits. this is good news... i heard good things about this movie and i am curious to see it.

I'm curious about The Descent Part 2 for two reasons. One is that, from the sound of the plot, they're taking the Aliens approach. I find that interesting since the first one was compared with Alien.
But it's the second reason I'm really wondering about: are they jumping off from the director's cut ending or are they going with the idiotic theatrical ending?

Double meaning: 1. The survivor from the first movie leads a platoon into the caves in the second one. 2. More of a guess, but compare Alien and Aliens. Aliens is much more of an action movie than the original, so I'm guessing that might be the case here (and, if handled right, not necessarily a bad thing).

I don't know if this qualifies as a horror movie, but:
Natalie Portman to conquer 'Zombies' By Ami Angelowicz, The Frisky December 12, 2009 3:44 a.m. EST
(The Frisky) -- If all of the film adaptations of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" have left your brain numb, this one may really kill you ... in a good way.
Natalie Portman has signed on to produce and star in the movie version of the best-selling book "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," written by Seth Grahame-Smith and, uh, Jane Austen.
This expanded version of the Austen classic adds a twist on the well-known love story when the outbreak of a deadly virus begins to turn townsfolk into killers. Elizabeth Bennet struggles to balance her blossoming love for Mr. Darcy with her obligation to kick some zombie butt.
And who better to bring the right combination of elegance, wit, and edginess to the role of Elizabeth Bennet than Portman? She certainly has the chops to convince us to embrace this version of Elizabeth -- a woman who at long last will have a proper outlet for her sense of purpose.
Sure, zombies may seem like a peculiar addition to the original text, but there is something about the outbreak of the undead in 19th-century England that somehow makes the story more accessible.
The idea that love can blossom in spite of treacherous, external forces is really a modern concept. Besides, who hasn't had to slay a couple of zombies to land Mr. Right?

JJ Abrams talks Cloverfield sequel (from Dread Central):
Actually it's more like one sentence than a whole conversation, but for those of us jonesing for some news about the Cloverfield sequel, anything J.J. Abrams says about it is most welcome!
During a recent chat with MTV Movies Blog, Abrams had this to say about the progress of a Cloverfield sequel: "We're working on something right now with that, and again, you know, it's early stages." (The "again" has to do with him saying virtually the exact same thing about his Star Trek sequel; for more on that, be sure to hit up the link.)
Like we said, not a lot to go on, but at least it's proof that things are indeed moving forward! While we wait for more, here's a look back at the original film's trailer.

Saw a trailer for THE CRAZIES on comcast's OnDemand. Pretty much what you'd expect from an updated remake.
