(Crossposted from the TIAS board...just in case) Here's the link to the event's page. It has a list of the titles being given away, a store locator (though you should know that, yes, Eide's Entertainment is participating), and even a pretty cool video with Hugh Jackman promoting the event. The titles available cover a wide spectrum of interests and age-appropriateness, so you should have no trouble finding something you like. Some stores may have limits on what you can take, others don't. If you're curious, call ahead and ask. Some stores sun special sales, too, so you might luck out. Which leads to my plea: buy one comic. This event generates a lot of traffic to the stores, but it doesn't always translate to sales. There's a lot of grab and dash. I'm not saying you have to drop $75 on that Absolute Watchmen book; just buy one. These days, the cover cost is between $3 to $5 (yes, I know), which is why I say just pick up one. If a good number of customers did that, it'd be a red letter day for the store. And if you want to show your support but don't know what to buy, just ask for a suggestion. The comic shops around here thankfully aren't usually run by a live version of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons; most if not all should be more than happy to point you to something you might enjoy based on your interests.
