Yeah, this is really a bummer. It's a shame how he suffered with Alzheimer's, especially in the last few years. Such a brilliant, talented guy.

Pittsburgh's own Byrd Foster, who sang & played drums for Roy Buchanan, & then left to join the Silencers, has passed away. www.post-gazette.com/pg/11181/1157351-100.stmWhat a bummer. I was listening a Roy bootleg today when I heard the news.

Former Penguin coach Johnny Wilson had died at the age of 82: www.post-gazette.com/pg/11361/1199565-100.stmNone of the obits you read will say so, but he was the worst coach in the history of Pittsburgh sports, tied with Jim "I'm Doing an Outstanding Job" Tracy.

Davy Jones. Hey, hey we're the Monkees. I was a little kid when this was going on. The TV show is still funny. He'll be sadly missed by all his fans.

The local AM radio station has been having a Davy Jones Tribute Weekend. Every hour they play at least 3 Monkees songs. Kind of nice to hear some of that stuff again. Plus they have interviews with members of the band. Almost made me want to dig out my Monkees Greatest Hits CD. ( Almost .) This station plays nothing but classic rock and oldies. Great for AM radio.

Bad news indeed. 3 of the 5 members, & all 3 of the singers, are all dead. Levon was my fave of all of 'em. His book, The Wheel's On Fire, is among the top 2-3 rock-n-roll bios ever written IMHO.
Levon & Ringo were the most talented as drummers. Both could sing, write songs, play other instruments, & even act in movies.
RIP.

Richard Dawson. Survey says : Deader than shit. #1 Answer !! All kidding aside, he was one of the reasons I watched Hogan's Heroes.
