Hmm, it seems like the Ring is kind of on the same thing. You have to pass it on to stay alive!

I don't even think it's that original. Have you ever read or seen "Thinner." Gypsy curse. Can't get rid of it. Have to transfer the curse to someone else. well duh. it's not like Raimi invented the gypsy curse or something. it's been a frickin folklore for hundreds of years. he just used it for the basis of his story. it hasn't been done in awhile. Thinner was like what? 15 years ago?? Everything has been around for a while. What I'm saying is that I don't even think he put his own twist on the gypsy curse. His story follows a very similar path to Thinner. I would have been more impressed if he had made this stand on it's own as a new way to look at the gypsy curse. Like he did with the book of the dead. The movie just felt like he mailed it in from the get go and went through the motions.

"twists" aren't all they're cracked up to be. if a director puts a "twist" in and it's good then that's great but, that's not the only thing i watch movies for.

This was a movie that needed a good twist though. You spent the last 30 minutes knowing how the entire envelope thing was going to go down. It made it kind of irritating to me that it was that predictable.

I agree that a lot of films are predicable. But this was too extreme. A lot of films leave you with a touch of doubt that your prediction might be off. This one didn't.
