I love horror movies, especially Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. But, I can't give Rami a free pass just because he gave us some real classics in the past. Please quit using the "his old stuff/new stuff comparison" as the basis of your arguement. those movies were from a different time. let it go. no one's comparing those classics with this in the way you might be thinking. it's just that, like alot of creative directors, Raimi has a certain way to his stories. his own style. THAT'S the comparison. and that's the goodness of the film... the weird story, bad acting, cheesy effects, they're are all a part of the ride and he had the balls to stick with it in 2009. if there was CGI in 1981, he would've used it then too. plus, you can't expect Raimi to try and find a lead like Bruce Campbell ever again and he would've been crucified for even trying to do so. so considering his options, i thought he did well. i didn't get the impression that he was trying to out do or recreate his classics. it's just the way he does his horror and it was refreshing to see it again, instead of the same old same old today. if you don't understand or enjoy that, then you've simply out grown his style of horror and that's not his fault, is it? I'll state once again that this movie looked and felt as if it was a bad horror movie of today "same old same old" and he added his "style" here and there and that just did not work. I have no problem with CGI, except when it is done badly. Bad CGI is just bad CGI, plain and simple. I'm not blaming Rami for me not liking the movie, I'm blaming him for the turd he threw up on the screen.

blah blah blah...
you still haven't made any point yet but your own lame opinion so, you may as well just stop trying so hard to convince that you have standards and just admit you can't enjoy a fun and creative horror movie.

This might be the worst post in this discussion so far. Just because your opinions aren't the same doesn't make her opinion lame. I have the opportunity(misfortune) of watching at least 5 horror films a week with Akasha. Most of which she likes. So I don't really think you can decide for her whether she enjoys fun and creative films based on her not liking something that you enjoy.

Your opinion of my opinion being lame is lame. An opinion is an opinion. I enjoy fun and creative horror flicks. Tokyo Gore Police was fun and creative. Chopping mall was fun. Black Sheep was fun. But today's same old same old movie with a few Rami jokes here and there doesn't make it fun.

The title was very accurate. I did feel like I had been Dragged to Hell, tortured, violated and spit upon. And it only cost me $10 to be treated this way.

I don't even think it's that original. Have you ever read or seen "Thinner." Gypsy curse. Can't get rid of it. Have to transfer the curse to someone else.

Have to transfer the curse to someone else. well duh. it's not like Raimi invented the gypsy curse or something. it's been a frickin folklore for hundreds of years. he just used it for the basis of his story. it hasn't been done in awhile. Thinner was like what? 15 years ago??
