I'll check it out because it's Sam Raimi but the trailer left me with low expectations.

Looks decent, plus it's Sam coming back to horror. Also, I've seen two different reviews online of a rough cut, and both were very high on the praise.

Pros: Sam Raimi directing, it's not a remake & cool title.
Cons: Justin Long

Dread Central posted a very positive review from a screening at SXSW. Click here.

MPAA handed down a PG-13. Before the groans start, word is the difference between the PG-13 and the R is a few seconds, and the movie's been getting pretty impressive advance reviews.
Fingers crossed. (Yes, even after every nasty thing I said about Spidey 3, In Raimi I Trust.)

I'm going to end up kicking some ass at the theater one of these days.

that is why i try to avoid the rush hours. i like going early in the day and/or during the week. most of the time i go to the movies alone and there's only a few other people there. it's nice.

Between the cell phones (worst invention ever), children who won't stay still, and the morons who think they're in their own living room and are yelling at the screen, the murder juice is just oozing out of my pores inside 10 minutes. People are just fucking awful anymore.

People are just fucking awful anymore. I've had more than my fair share of theater horror stories -- Incredible Hulk, anyone? -- but I'd be lying if I said I've had some good ones lately, too. I think it depends on the movie and most certainly when you go. For instance, the midnight show of Dark Knight when it debuted was one I thought was gonna be an utter catastrophe with all the teens (and parents who actually brought toddlers), but once the movie rolled, the only noise came at the moments that deserved a reaction. I like Brad and Akasha's advice, because that seems to be when the true moviegoers show up. The ones who dig the experience and avoid disrupting it for others.

When Akasha and I went to see Last House on the Left it was 10 PM on a Thursday. 6 of us total in the theater. Jackass guy in the row behind me is talking on his cell phone when the movie has started. Which takes me to a question for Pointy. When this jackass was talking on his cell phone during the movie I turned to him and said "why don't you take that phone call outside." I've been told that my words were a bit harsh, I could have said please take it outside. I totally disagree and feel as though I was overly nice. I should have told him to take it outside before I shove it up his ass. Anyway Pointed one you and I feel the same way about human beings a lot of the time. Do you find my wording used to be rude or harsh? Heh. It's like "Ask Pointy" on here now.
