Watched the White Sox and Cubs play on Friday. Zambrano gives up two doubles, a single, and a homerun, in the first inning. He goes back to the dugout, and starts screaming at his teammates, Derrick Lee in particular. Lou Piniella has no choice but to yank his sorry ass, out of the game, after giving up 4 runs in the 1st inning, then blaming his teammates. From that point on, the Cubs looked demoralized, as Jake Peavy and two relievers shut them out. Now there's a "team player". The Cubs played 13 innings the day before, and used up the bullpen. So what does Zambrano do? He erupts....again....and as Sox announcer Steve Stone pointed out, Derrick Lee isn't Micheal Barrett-(who Zambrano beat up, atfer a game in 07). Piniella needed Zambrano to pitch at least six or seven innings, but Big Z pulls this crap instead. Meanwhile, the White Sox have won 10 in a row. ;D

Zambrano does stuff that one wouldn't expect from a Little Leaguer. There was a game he pitched against the Pirates last year--he had a large lead, maybe 3 runs or more, I believe in the 7th inning. He came up to bat, struck out, had a fit, & went into the dugout & threw a temper tantrum. Next thing ya know, he takes his frustration to the mound with him, tries to throw every pitch 200 mph, walks a couple guys, & before ya know it, he blows the lead & the Cubs lose. All because he can't grasp the notion that a pitcher striking out in the 7th inning with a big lead isn't a bad thing. Sweet Lou has never put up with much nonsense, but he's a candidate for sainthood for putting up with this character.

He's been suspended indefinitely by the Cubs.

After Friday's game, Zambrano went out to dinner with Ozzie Guillen-(the manager of the other team). Zambrano's teammates must be thrilled to hear that.
The Cubs are now saying when Zambrano comes back, he'll only pitch out of the bullpen. Former Pirate Tom Gorezelany will go back into the starting rotation.
$90 million for a middle reliver, who hangs out with the other team's manager....
