Coraline. I'm really looking forward to this. Especially the 3D.

Watchmen (big shock, eh?)
I wanna see Coraline, too. Never read the book, but I'm a huge fan of both Neil Gaiman and Henry Selick, so this is could be made for me.
Beyond that, for now...not much looks good.

I'm all for promoting the crap out of Watchmen, but the following is either the most inventive promotional trinket, the most wrong, or some bizarre hybrid of both. Click here, and be sure to read some of the comments at the end of the story. Funny stuff, but I think we can do better, eh?

It kinda is, but I have to wonder who the marketing person was who saw stills (or possibly the movie itself) and thought, "When I see this character, I see rubbers." Then again...he is bald and blue. Which makes me wonder if the tip has that radioactive symbol on it. All right. I'll stop. I did think of another one that actually looks like it has potential: Monsters vs Aliens. I love the concept: an alien invasion being thwarted by a government-sponsored teamof monsters inspired by 50s B-movies. It's in 3D. And Stephen Colbert is the voice of the President.

i'm goin to see coraline on monday. i'll report back! Please do - I'm very interested to hear whether it meets expectations. What is it? I never even heard of it! The more I see the previews for "Watchmen" (or is it "Watchman"?) the more I am interested in seeing it. It looks like a painting. I may be the only one on here that feels this way but I hate 3D. HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT! I hate that this trend has come back in style.

Okay, I just looked up Caraline on IMDB. I did see the previews for it, but I didn't remember the name of it. I'll wait until DVD to see it since it's 3D (*see above post)

At least not in the frenetic contexts of many of today's films.

I don't go to the theater much for movies. My Bloody Valentine was the first I've seen since Quantum of Solace in the fall and before that it was Sweeney Todd.

I used to go to the movies a lot when there were still movie theaters in Monroeville. I usually just wait until DVD unless it's something I really badly want to see.
