Which do you like better? For anyone who knows me they know I choose the original. The remake was really good and the 3D effect was great but I'm looking at the story and I like the first one better. The gore factor kicks butt in the remake but I have to still go with the original.

I liked the remake. The changes to the storyline could have really ruined it but they worked. But you can't beat the original, a top notch pioneer in slasher films.

I was really worried that this movie would have been ruined but I thought it was a good job. Especially since a good bit of other remakes have been horrible. I still think I would have enjoyed it more if they didn't mess with the story but what they did was good.

Hate to do the "me too" thing, but you guys nailed it.
The remake is a lot of fun, and it actually holds up pretty well with a second viewing. Even without the 3D, I think it's still a decent hoot. I plan on adding it to the DVD shelf when it comes out.
But the original is just so well done. I like that the victims are blue-collar guys instead of teens, and the Canadian accents and phrases give it a flavor that put it apart from the other slashers. And Henry Warden is iconic, right up there with the big guys. Even in its R-rated form, it's great stuff. That said, the newly restored version is fantastic!

yeah i agree too. the remake is alright but i like the original better as well. plus it seemed to have more to do with Valentine's Day i thought. i mean, the plot itself was more revolted around vday that the newer one was...they just kinda sprinkled the holiday in the remake because of the title i thought.
